7th Annual Shootout on Whiskey Row

Location: Montezuma Street at Goodwin Street, Prescott, AZ

Event Date: Sat Jul 28, 2012 thru Sun Jul 29, 2012

The 2012 7th Annual Shootout on Whiskey Row

A big Thank You from the Prescott Regulators & Their Shady Ladies, Inc. (PRSL) to all of our members, community sponsors and vendors, competition groups, entertainers and many other community contacts for helping to make our “7th Annual Shootout on Whiskey Row” an overwhelming success.

This was the first year for the Shootout to utilize the vacant corner lot at Montezuma and Goodwin Streets to set up a great amphitheater where our competitors and entertainers had a professional stage to “strut their stuff.”  Thank you to Steve Pierce for his continued support of PRSL.

The cooperation of the merchants along the side of Montezuma Street which was closed for our vendors, exhibitors and children’s play area confirmed that Prescott is a great place to be.

Each day the event was opened by the posting of colors by PRSL’s own Ft. Whipple Regulars, an authentic military unit from the late 1870’s.

As usual, our competing groups outdid themselves in their re-enactment skits.  The placement of the competitors resulted in the following awards:

First Place:  The Arizona Ghostriders from Tucson, Arizona

Second Place:  The Guns of the Round Table from Riverside, California

Third Place:  Guns & Garters from Running Springs, California

People’s Choice Award:  Colorado River Riders from Yuma, Arizona

The ever popular costume contest was a real crowd pleaser, especially with the antics of the award announcers Melissa and Dale.

Please go to our Calendar Page and click on the July 28, 2012 Shootout listing to see some fun photographs taken at the Shootout.

Ideas for our “8th Annual Shootout on Whiskey Row” are already being mulled around in the minds of the members in our group.  Continue to check back for updates on the 2013 event.
