10th Annual Shootout on Whiskey Row

Location: Downtown Prescott, Arizona

Event Date: Sat Jul 25, 2015 thru Sun Jul 26, 2015

We had a great 10th Annual Shootout on Whiskey Row!  The Prescott Regulators & Their Shady Ladies, Inc. would like to send a Big Thank You to everyone who participated and to everyone who attended our event.

Our re-enactment competition once again showed off five groups that represent the best that there is in the “old west.”   Congratulations to all!

First Place:  Guns & Garters, Running Springs, California

Second Place:  Arizona Ghostriders, Tucson, Arizona

Third Place:  The Boothill Express Company, Mesa, Arizona

Paul Narwold People’s Choice Award:  The Guns of Cripple Creek, Duncan, Arizona

The Colorado River Riders, Yuma, Arizona

And, once again, our costume contest reigns supreme!  The hard work and dedication that old west re-enactors put into their costuming is amazing to view.  Congratulations to the following winners:

Best Overall Male:  Mitch Mackey (Mountain Man)

Best Overall Female:  Terri Muchmore (Miss Klondike Kitty)

Children:  1st Place Omari Eastin (Little Dusty), 2nd Place Hunter Hutchison (Matt)

Saloon Girl: 1st Place Maria Tammaro (Sally Jenson), 2nd Place Ashley Parry (Millie Ann)

Our streets were filled with over 21 Vendors and a multitude of other activities including a children’s play area, our featured charity Yavapai Big Brothers/Big Sisters, a photo booth, a costume rental opportunity and other non-profit organizations.

The Shootout also featured its first ever official recognition of the National Day of the Cowboy which was represented by the Prescott Regulators Long Riders.  They enjoyed an equestrian trail ride starting north of Prescott which was led through the downtown by our own Mayor Kuykendall and Jerry Thomas (Pauline Markham & Miss Elvira), a member of the Prescott Regulators & Their Shady Ladies, Inc.  The ride finished at the Mile High Middle School.

And, what about that first Saturday night dance held in our performing arena.  This was a family event with music provided by a fabulous local group “Five In the Wheel.”

We are wrapping up the details of this year’s event, and already thoughts and plans are underway for the next “best ever” 11th Annual Shootout on Whiskey Row to be held on July 23 and 24, 2016 (featuring the National Day of the Cowboy, the 4th Saturday in July).
